4.3 quake rattles Christchurch

Christchurch has been jolted by a magnitude 4.3 earthquake.

The quake struck about 1.30pm on Friday and was centred 20 kilometres east of the city at a depth of 7 kilometres.

GeoNet classified its intensity as "strong".

There have been no reports of damage.
