Christchurch residents meet insurer

Christchurch residents wanting a clearer picture about what is going on with their earthquake insurance claims have met with representatives of Lumley Insurance.

The meeting on Thursday was organised by Insurance Watch, a community advocacy group helping Cantabrians get answers to their quake insurance questions.

Spokesperson David Stringer says their survey shows Lumley Insurance, which has 10% of the market share in Canterbury, was performing better at dealing with claims than other providers.

The next meeting will be held on 7 November for those insured with Southern Response, the state-owned company formed to handle the earthquake claims of AMI.
