IAG says its customers will know whether their homes will be rebuilt or repaired before the end of the year.

IAG says its customers will know whether their homes will be rebuilt or repaired before the end of the year.

A survey earlier this year by Insurancewatch found Christchurch residents rated IAG the worst insurer in the market.

The company's New Zealand chief executive Jacki Johnson says she will be meeting customers in Christchurch on Monday night.

At the meeting IAG will commit to telling customers by 20 December whether their home were be rebuilt or repaired.

Ms Johnson told Morning Report that IAG was not able to give this message earlier because it was waiting for information about the land and foundations homes sit on.
