Return questionnaire or CBD land will be acquired - CERA

Updated at 4:13 pm on 13 November 2012

The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) is warning central city landowners that if they don't return questionnaires, their land may be compulsorily acquired.

To rebuild the central city, the Crown plans to acquire 1317 parcels of land.

A spokesperson says the Authority has information from 946 land owners but needs replies from the 371 owners who have not been in contact.

He says if a property owner does not wish to discuss the sale of their property, then the Crown may proceed to the next stage, of compulsory acquisition.
