Demolition contractors in Christchurch plan to level an eight storey building in 48 hours this weekend.
The building, on the corner of Gloucester and Durham Streets, will be taken down by two crews using two high-reach excavators.
The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority says the demolition of an eight-storey building would usually take at least a month.
The job is being done by contractors.
