A home owner in Christchurch says new short-term insurance policies do not fully protect them or their assets.
Marsh, an insurance broker, has announced a policy that it says will insure a new house during construction and for 12 months afterwards.
But home owner Sarah Miles said similar policies are on the market and they don't provide long term solutions or security for owners.
She said there is no certainty for home owners once the 12 month insurance policy expires.
