Part of quake cordon relaxed

The Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority is relaxing part of its CBD cordon in Christchurch on Friday to allow more access to the central city.

From 5pm, the cordon will be reduced on Hereford Street, west of the Colombo Street intersection, and the upper section of High Street.

The reduction is part of a series of changes to the cordon ahead of it being lifted by the end of June.

A further reduction is expected late next week.
