Boiled water still required

7:46 pm on 7 September 2010

An order to boil all water, which has been in place since the magnitude 7.1 earthquake in Canterbury on Saturday, remains in force in Christchurch.

No tap water should be considered safe and must be boiled for at least three minutes.

Tanker water is available at six locations around the city - in Dallington, Bexley and four locations in New Brighton.

People should take along a container that holds at least 20 litres.

Portaloos are based at 12 locations around Christchurch for people who still do not have water for flushing.
