Three sharp aftershocks have been felt in Canterbury on Monday.
A 4.2-magnitude aftershock hit the region at 1.05pm. It was centred 10km southwest of Christchurch at a depth of 20km.
Earlier two aftershocks measuring 4.1 were also felt.
Overnight between Sunday and Monday, four small aftershocks were recorded.
The largest, at 11.30pm, measured 3.9. It was at a depth of 4km and 20km south-west of Christchurch.
Three other aftershocks measuring 3.2, 3.5 and 3.7 were felt in the city between about 2am and 4am.
