Four new centres to help Christchurch people recover from the earthquake will open on Thursday.
They will provide information and access to services such as Victim Support, Inland Revenue, Housing New Zealand, and Work and Income.
The four centres are at the Department of Labour in Kilmore St, the Linwood Community Link in Aldwins Rd, Heartland Services in Hornby, and Work and Income in New Brighton.
Meanwhile, a welfare centre set up in Kaiapoi will remain open until Sunday.
The centre, at the local rugby club, had been due to close on Friday. However, Waimakiriri District Council chief executive Jim Palmer told a public meeting there is still a need for the centre.
A recovery assistance centre will be set up in its place on Monday to provide any further help, he says.
