The mayor of Christchurch is urging residents in one of the suburbs worst hit by the earthquake to be patient, after some said they were considering suing the city council for allowing the Bexley subdivision to be built.
The Earthquake Commission is finalising a report that will detail engineers' findings on the areas affected by liquefaction, including the suburb of Bexley.
A homeowner there, Laura McConchie, says some residents have discussed whether they should sue the council, as some hold it responsible for allowing the subdivison to be built.
Mayor Bob Parker is urging residents to wait for the commission's findings.
