Christchurch City Council says residents in suburbs affected most by the earthquake on 4 September, are now being traumatised by speeding vehicles.

It says some residents are living in houses that have been seriously destabilised and vibrations caused by traffic can be very upsetting.

The council says vehicles continue to travel at inappropriate speeds for the road conditions.
