People in Christchurch who rely on oxygen breathing machines are being urged not to call emergency services if they have an interruption in their power supply.
Canterbury District Health Board says those who are dependent on oxygen machines should try to find another source of power if possible.
It says if such a power source cannot be found, people should call Cardio and Respiratory Outreach on 03 364 0167 during business hours, or 03 364 0640 after hours.
