Law firm won't work in high-rise again

A Christchurch law firm says it will no longer work in a high-rise building.

Duncan and Cotterill's office, which was located in Clarendon Tower, is now closed.

A partner at the firm, Garth Gallaway, says many of the company's staff were trapped in the building for hours on Tuesday because the stairs had collapsed.

After the September earthquake, the firm moved its server into a bunker, so staff who are able to work will be doing so from home on Monday morning.

Mr Gallaway says those who are unable to work will still get paid.
