Two strong aftershocks rattled Christchurch on Tuesday.
A magnitude 4.6 shock occured at 10.42pm, 10km west of Lyttelton and 10km south of Christchurch. Its depth was just 5km.
And a 4.3-magnitude tremor was recorded at 9.10am, centred 10km east of Lyttelton.
There were also aftershocks at 4.43am (3.1), 6.37am (3.6), 7.40am (3.7), 9.10am (4.3), 9.28am (3.5), 5.17pm (3.4) and 10.12pm (3.6).
