Statistics New Zealand are reminding people the 2011 census, which would have been on Tuesday 8 March, has been cancelled.
The count was cancelled because of the Christchurch earthquake in February.
The census has been cancelled twice before: in 1931 because of the Great Depression and in 1941 because of World War II.
The general manager of the 2011 Census, Carol Slappendel, says a decision has yet to be made on when it will be held.
People who have census forms should destroy them, she says.
