The Historic Places Trust is urging restorers and conservators to send it their details so a team can be assembled to address earthquake damage to heritage buildings in Christchurch.
The trust is working with independent organisation Museums Aotearoa to compile a national database of restorers.
One of the people creating the database, William Cottrell, says there is no national information that can be accessed on the scale needed in Christchurch to repair the damage.
He says heritage buildings need to be repaired as fast as possible, particularly before winter weather sets in.
Mr Cottrell is asking people with relevant restoring skills to contact Museums Aotearoa.
