The University of Canterbury Students Association says it has a comprehensive welfare service in place to support returning students.
Lectures resume on Monday, nearly three weeks after the Christchurch earthquake, with some being held in makeshift marquees.
The Students Association has set up a welfare centre and support services which include domestic and international student support, a team to help with students' academic life, hardship funds and a foodbank.
Association president Kohan McNab says this will be a tough year for students. Staff from the university and the association are working together to make sure students can resolve any problems they face as quickly as possible.
