Quake repairs could take port 4 years

The Port of Lyttelton says it could take up to four years to complete repairs to damage from the earthquake on 22 February.

Chief executive Peter Davie says the company has lifted its emergency status and will be looking at its future expansion plans over the next month.

Mr Davie says the earthquake has provided the port with one benefit, because it is using the rubble of buildings to fill and reclaim land.
