The owners of The Press newspaper building in Christchurch are devastated that it is to be demolished.
The Cathedral Square landmark is among several notable heritage buildings that are on the list of 172 premises needing full or partial demolition in the central city following the earthquake on 22 February.
The owners describe the Press building as the 'jewel in the crown' of a redevelopment project, which was in its second phase.
