Exporters take up help to reassure customers

More than 90 Christchurch-based exporters have taken advantage of a Government fund to reassure their foreign customers they can fulfil orders.

The $2 million New Zealand Trade and Enterprise-run fund was part of a second round of measures to help the city's firms recover following the disruption caused by February's earthquake.

More than $1.3 million of the fund has been approved to help 91 firms - three-quarters of them in the IT, services and manufacturing sectors.

Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee says it is important firms meet their customers and reinforce the message they are back at work.
