Another cordon around parts of central Christchurch damaged by the earthquake, will be lifted on Sunday morning.
Zone four north, which encompasses Bealey Avenue, Salisbury Street, Montreal Street and Park Terrace, will open for residents and business owners from 8am and to the public on Monday at 8am.
The next zone to reopen is Zone Seven-A, between Chester Street East, Madras Street, Barbadoes Street and Oxford Terrace.
It will be available to residents and business owners on Monday morning and then to the public from Tuesday.
That will leave only four zones still out of bounds, including the red zone.
Military checkpoints remain in place.
Further cordon changes to zone seven are expected later in the week.
