Govt gives $625,000 to help Canterbury tourism

The Government will contribute $625,000 towards tourism in Christchurch to help the industry recover after the February earthquake.

The donation to Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism is part of a collaborative fund, with other contributions from the city council and Christchurch International Airport.

The money will go towards rebuilding accommodation facilities in Christchurch and for tourism-related promotion.
