City Mission facing unprecedented demand for help

Christchurch City Mission has seen an unprecedented demand for its help since the February earthquake.

More than 1400 people were visited by the organisation last month, an increase of 150% on January.

And the number of food parcels given out doubled to about 2700.

The City Mission has also set up a mobile service to help people in badly damaged suburbs.

It says donations are especially needed now, as winter approaches.
