Housing New Zealand has completed the most urgent repairs to earthquake damaged state houses in Christchurch.
Some 2352 state homes were damaged in the Canterbury and Christchurch earthquakes in September last year and February with 5621 individual repairs needed.
Housing Minister Phil Heatley says all of those homes have been inspected and they are close to completing all repairs.
Mr Heatley says of the 660 state homes in Christchurch, 160 are uninhabitable and 26 are beyond repair.
Housing New Zealand is working with those tenants to find alternatives.
