Maori Television is to broadcast a 12-hour telethon for Christchurch on 22 May, three months after the February earthquake.
The event will be called Rise UP Christchurch - Te Kotahitanga and include activities held in London, Los Angeles and Sydney.
Spokesperson Brooke Howard-Smith says all proceeds will go to the people of Christchurch.
Dairy cooperative Fonterra is contributing $500,000 towards production and administration costs.
Mr Howard-Smith says the telethon will be broadcast live on Maori Television and also streamed live online.
He says the telethon is supported by a range of well-known New Zealanders including Richie McCaw, Dan Carter, Rachel Hunter, Anna Paquin and Martin Henderson.
