Public urged to have say on Christchurch rebuild

The Christchurch City Council is calling for anyone with ideas on how the city should be rebuilt to post them on a new website.

The council has been given the responsibility of reconstructing the city and is expected to have a plan in place by the end of the year.

Mayor Bob Parker says it is vital the community has a say in what the city should look like and is encouraging people to submit their suggestions to the Share an Idea website.

People can also attend community workshops, the first of which will be held at the CSB Arena next weekend.

The council will spend the next three months collating ideas and hopes to have a draft plan ready in August.
