Detailed new footage of Christchurch's tightly guarded Red Zone has emerged.
The footage was taken by Terralink International for Civil Defence last month and released by the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority (CERA) on Monday.
CERA spokesperson Catherine Delore says Terralink got the footage by fitting six high-resolution cameras to a vehicle that drove every accessible road within the zone.
Mrs Delore says this footage has been compiled to create an interactive website, where visitors can choose where they want to go and what landmarks they'd like to visit.
She says the images give the public a chance to look inside the Red Zone, assess the damage there and think about what they'd like central Christchurch to look like infuture.
