Deadline for first-hand accounts of quake-hit buildings

2:41 pm on 31 May 2011

Photographs, videos or first-hand accounts of four key buildings which collapsed or were badly damaged in the Christchurch earthquake must be submitted by the end of Tuesday.

The Building and Housing Department is looking at why the Pyne Gould, CTV, Forsyth Barr and Hotel Grand Chancellor buildings suffered such serious damage.

The department has been seeking public help to piece together the state of the buildings before, during and after the 6.3 magnitude earthquake on 22 February.

The collated information will form part of the evidence looked at by the Canterbury Earthquake Royal Commission.

Those with information are asked to call 0800 242 243 or email the Building and Housing Department.
