Two more landmark historical buildings in Christchurch are set to be demolished.
The Sumner Museum and Godley House in Diamond Harbour were seriously damaged in February's earthquake.
The decision to demolish them was made at a meeting of Christchurch City Council on Thursday.
The Sumner Museum building, constructed in 1907, originally housed Sumner Borough Council but more recently became a museum featuring local World War II memorabilia, historical artefacts and photos. The council says it is in a dangerous state and needs to come down.
The other building to be demolished, Godley House, was built in 1880 and is described as being "all but collapsed".
The council says the demolition will take place in stages so heritage material can be salvaged from the historic buildings.
