Minor damage to resthomes after latest quakes

Six Christchurch resthomes have minor structural damage and water, power and sewerage problems from earthquakes on Monday.

Three disability providers have also had to move residents to facilities elsewhere.

The Canterbury Disrict Health Board says no serious structural problems have been identified at its hospitals and some elective surgery will resume on Wednesday.

Urgent and out-patient appointments are continuing.

Burwood Hospital is unlikely to be doing operations until later in the week.
