Federated Farmers is calling for more volunteers to help shovel silt from residents' properties in earthquake-hit eastern suburbs of Christchurch this week.
Federated Farmers earthquake spokesperson John Hartnell says the Farmy Army and the Student Volunteer Army operation need at least 200 people a day to help remove the silt.
Mr Hartnell is expecting fewer volunteers during the week compared with the weekend.
People are asked to bring a shovel or a wheelbarrow to the A and P Showgrounds in Curletts Road.
Volunteers are needed between 7am and 4pm.
