Christchurch residents say they still feel left in the dark about the city's recovery.
Significant earthquakes that started on 4 September last year and included the fatal quake on 22 February has left parts of the city in ruins and the future of others up in the air.
Prime Minister John Key will be in Christchurch on Thursday, fuelling speculation a long-awaited announcement about which suburbs must be abandoned will finally be released.
Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee has refused to be drawn on the matter, to the ire of many living in seriously damaged areas.
Avonside resident Angela Wasley was forced from her home following the September quake and says the Government has been dragging the chain.
"We've been asking for communication since November. People have just been running round in circles dealing with broken houses and things are getting really dangerous.
"There are some things that I think could have been decided on earlier and leave the big things till later."
