Maori have been offered free post-quake health checks on Saturday in Christchurch.
The checks at Rehua Marae in Springfield Road were available for all Maori from 10am - 2pm.
They were being carried out by doctors and senior medical students from Otago University's medical school in Christchurch.
Associate Dean Suzanne Pitama says there is concern many people are neglecting their health as they cope with basic issues such as housing, schooling and even finding somewhere to buy groceries in the wake of the quakes.
She says the clinic also aims to help train new doctors in the treatment of Maori so they receive the same standard of care as their Pakeha counterparts.
