The quake-damaged PricewaterhouseCoopers Centre in Christchurch will be demolished after the owners conceded it is too costly to repair.
Kiwi Income Properties Trust says the 21-year-old retail and office building has been too badly damaged by the earthquakes.
The trust says arrangements will be made with the Canterbury Earthquake Recovery Authority and its insurers Vero to demolish the building.
The 21-floor centre was valued at $52.2 million before the first major quake in September last year.
