The public will have the chance to submit feedback on draft plans to rebuild two suburban areas of Christchurch that were hit hard hit in the earthquakes.
The two areas are Linwood, which lost an estimated 60% of its commercial buildings - including two corner blocks of shops - and the Selwyn Street district of Spreydon, where the earthquakes also destroyed around 60% of the buildings.
The community boards representing the two areas submitted their master plans to the Christchurch City Council on Thursday.
The council endorsed those plans and gave approval for them to go to public consultation.
The consultation period will go through until February 2012.
