The Canterbury Earthquake Authority is asking property and business owners how they want Christchurch to be rebuilt.

The Central City Commercial Property Study is open to anyone to participate and is available online, with results expected to be available to the authority in February.

The authority's chief executive says the survey will help it understand the wants and needs of property owners, tenants and other users of the central city.

Roger Sutton says the information will give the authority, the Government and the Christchurch City Council a strong platform in which to action the Central City Plan.

Canterbury Employers Chamber of Commerce chief executive Peter Townsend says he is encouraging all members to participate in the survey.
