Stewart Fisher operated an unauthorised landfill on a Hawera farm, and Roydon Collingwood is the director of Collingwood Civil, which used the dump.

Collingwood Civil tipped up to 60 truckloads of material, left over from a fire at Hawera Intermediate School in late 2015, at the head of a gully on a farm on Hicks Road near Hawera.

It also dumped debris from Inglewood Railway Hotel, which closed in 2014 after 137 years, and another unidentified building in the Hawera CBD.

The men were last week fined $30,000 each by the Environment Court. The maximum fine for the offences would be $600,000 for each of the companies, as well as $300,000 individually or up to two years in jail.
