Zimbabwe sneak past UAE in Nelson

Zimbabwe have scraped past the United Arab Emirates in their Cricket World Cup clash in Nelson, winning by four wickets.

The UAE made 285 for seven batting first at Saxton Oval, and the Zimbabweans reached the target with two overs and 12 balls to spare, finishing on 286 for six.

Sean Williams hit a game-high 76 not out and, along with Sean Ervine's 42, rescued their side with an 83-run partnership after UAE's bowlers had reduced them to 167 for five in the 33rd over of their innings.

It was the first match for the Emiratis, while Zimbabwe lost their World Cup opener to South Africa by 62 runs in Hamilton.
