New Zealand tennis player Ellen Barry has pulled out of the Delhi Commonwealth Games, citing security and health concerns.

Barry was to have played doubles with Marina Erakovic.

She is the second New Zealander to pull out of the Games. Cyclist Greg Henderson decided last week not to travel to India.

Barry says her concerns have been growing in recent weeks and it was not a decision she made lightly.

She hopes it will not be her last chance to compete at the event and is disappointed she won't get to play with Erakovic in the doubles.

Erakovic will now play only singles matches in Delhi and mixed doubles with Rubin Statham, whose doubles partner Marcus Daniell had to withdraw from the Games due to injury.
