The New Zealand women's table tennis team came from behind to beat the Indian team on the opening day of the Commonwealth Games.

The New Zealanders fought back from 2-1 down to beat India 3-2 in front of a very noisy local crowd.

Karen Li levelled the tie with a five-set win over her opponent and Annie Yang sealed the win with a 3-2 victory in the deciding match.

Earlier, the New Zealanders beat Ghana and will be favourites to beat Sri Lanka in their last pool match.
