New Zealand officials still have concerns over the state of the track at the Commonwealth Games stadium, with the track and field programme due to start on Wednesday.

Work was still being carried out on Wednesday to replace grass in the middle of the renovated Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium after the Opening Ceremony in Delhi at the weekend and repairs to the track.

A spokesperson for the New Zealand team says athletics officials are inspecting the track.

New Zealander Adrian Blincoe will compete in the 5000 metres final on Wednesday.

However, Games officials are confident that the athletics programme will start on time.
