A One News Colmar Brunton poll shows an increase in the number of people who think the economy is going to get worse, compared to a survey three months ago.

The poll says 42% of those questioned thought that during the next 12 months the economy will be worse than it is at present, up from 38% three months ago.

And 38% believed the economy will improve over the next year, compared to 44% expressing optimism three months ago.

The poll of 1,000 people, carried out from 4 October to 9 October, has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1%.
