Mana Party takes aim at Maori Party slogan
Updated at 7:02 pm on 18 November 2011
The Mana Party says the Maori Party's '100% Maori' slogan is racist.
At a campaign launch, Maori Party co-leader Pita Sharples said his party was 100% Maori, and questioned how the Mana Party's pakeha candidiates could represent people of Maori descent.
Mana's co-vice president and Waiariki candidate, Annette Sykes, says Dr Sharples' statement goes against the Maori values of inclusion.
The Maori Party says the Mana Party is taking cheap shots, and its policies do reflect kaupapa Maori.
