Green Party co-leader Metiria Turei says some members are not happy with the leadership's response to the defacing of National Party billboards by a Green Party member.

Hundreds of National's hoardings had slogans such as 'The Rich Deserve More' and 'Drill it! Mine it! Sell it!' plastered on them last weekend.

The man who orchestrated the attacks, Jolyon White, resigned from the party over the incident and his partner was stood down as co-leader Russel Norman's executive assistant.

The party's co-leaders condemned the vandalism and apologised to National's leader, John Key, the party and its volunteers.

Metiria Turei concedes some party members weren't happy about that, and were concerned about Mr White, but she says more were disappointed at his actions.

Ms Turei says she's confident the party hasn't lost any support over the matter.
