Prime Minister John Key believes the Conservative Party picked up a lot of the religious vote in this election.
The Conservatives led by Colin Craig contested their first election, winning 2.-7% of the party vote.
Mr Key says the party's natural home is on the centre-right of the political spectrum and he would be happy to talk to them in the future.
He's not sure whether the Conservatives share the same free-market economic policies of the ACT Party, but Mr Key says they have attracted Christian support.
Mr Key pointed out that the religious vote is not new in New Zealand, in that parties such as Christian Heritage and Destiny have done well in previous elections.
