Election officials say voting apathy for the local body elections is big in Auckland, despite a drive to get people enrolled for the super city election .
The deadline to enrol to vote closes on Friday, and Electoral Enrolment Centre national manager Murray Wicks is disappointed some 106,000 people in Auckland have yet to register.
But he says the problem is not unique to Auckland with enrolment numbers low in other main centres as well.
In the last local elections, there were similar enrolment numbers of about 90%, but only 43% of electors turned out to vote.
Postal votes have to be returned by 9 October.
