One of the contenders for the Far North mayoralty is targeting the incumbent for treating the position as a part-time job.
Sir John Goulter says the area needs a full-time mayor, and he'd be one. He says the position pays about $90,000, and with the incumbent, Wayne Brown, recently saying it's only part-time, the local people are being short-changed.
Both Mr Brown and Sir John have strong business pedigrees, and have been arguing over plans for the local economy.
Mr Brown says Sir John hasn't been in the Far North long enough to know what it needs, whereas he's a local employer and knows what's going on.
