Steve Guerdat has won the individual Olympic show jumping gold at the London Games.

The Swiss was the only rider to go clear in two rounds at the Greenwich course on Wednesday, the BBC reports.

Gerco Schroder of the Netherlands took silver after a jump-off with Ireland's Cian O'Connor.

It is Ireland's first medal of the London Olympics.
