A New Zealand member of the International Olympic Committee says Valerie Adams will have to wait until the end of the year to get her London Games gold medal.
Adams was awarded the gold medal after Nedzeya Ostapchuk of Belarus was stripped of hers following a positive drugs test for steroids.
Ostapchuk denies being a drug cheat.
IOC member Barry Maister says it will be a lengthy process getting the medal to Adams.
The IOC's policy is to extract the medal from the previous recipient and it will have to wait until an appeal period has ended before it can do this, he says.
